I went to a "Quince"

Today, well technically yesterday (Saturday) I went to a "Quince" with my co-worker.  I have to say by the time I took these pictures I was really tired. I have been pulling "all-nighters" since Thursday night. I had a 5 day weekend from work so I definitely wanted to make them worthwhile! I have the summer off from school and this mini-vacation is definitely great, but today it's finally taking a toll on me. It's 3am and here I am still wide awake! I should be sleeping! lol.

This was my outfit for the evening. I wore a white burn out top I purchased at Ross for 6 dollars. I am wearing a black tank underneath, and threw a vest I got from Torrid for about 14 dollars I believe (can't clearly remember). I'm wearing some gladiator heals I purchased at Torrid, also for 15 dollars sometime last year on Clearance =)

I decided to use a more fitted top because the vest helps hide my problem areas (backrolls and yes I do have love handles) and layering a tank underneath helps in emphasizing the top and bringing the vest together as well.  I didn't like how the top looked with the tank tucked in so I left it out. Plus I enjoy wearing long tanks underneath when I wear fitted tops to help conceal my tummy when wearing very snug jeans like the ones I have on today.  Here are a few other pics to show you the difference and what I mean...you tell me...what do you think? How do you prefer wearing your fitted tops?

As you can see in the picture above (did I mention I was tired...lol) the top is very fitted and I wouldn't feel all that comfortable walking around with this top alone unless it was a size bigger. Because the top is fitted, the vest really helps hide my problem areas as mentioned above and the tank underneath helps a whole deal hiding that love handle (yup its' there...but it's very well concealed). Layering can really help hide, conceal, or make your love handles less noticeable as opposed to just wearing a top alone (see picture below) Big difference huh?  Notice how my love handles are more noticeable and stand out more  and making me look less flattering. (I still have the tank top on, just tucked it underneath).

So layering it up is defintely the way to go for me. Again, you can see how my figure becomes more flattering and my problem areas are nicely concealed and the whole outfit looks a whole lot better!

We be Clubb'n

Hi Girls,

So it's 5:45 am Saturday morning. My bestie is straight up snoring and I can hear her from my room lol she's passed out on my couch. I'm still up and not tired at all despite dancing up a storm at the club lol . I decided to post this outfit now before I lag it and wait longer so here is my outfit for Friday night. I wore a jean jumpsuit/jumper that was tailored by my mom's co-worker because it previously had humoungous wide legs and I wanted them to be fitted and so it looks so much better now :) I'll have to post a picture of what it looked like before too.

I pretty  much added a red belt to the waist and threw on some black pumps and a chain to make the whole look come together.
And my bestie wore a dress I let her borrow. Despite the body differences, we manage to fit in the same clothes because I'm taller and she's shorter so some of my clothes will fit her nicely! Here's a picture of her outfit. And next to her's is a picture of me with the same dress but different shoes.
And here we are together!

So after some digging through my old pictures and hard drives I've found what this jumper looked like before with the wide legs.  I was also a bit bigger and didn't feel comfortable wearing the jumper without  something over or underneat.  The picture below was taken last year in November on Chubby's B-day. Here, I simply tucked in a black top and pulled the jumper over and wore some peep toe sling back heels by Carlos Santana (I loooove those shoes).  As you can also see, the legs were very very strait legged and wide. I really love how they look today because they are much more fitted and not so loose.

July 1st, Outfit of the Day turned Evening

Today I started my day off wearing a top I purchased at the Goodwill for 3 dollars! I really like the fit. It's very loose fitting and it flows very nicely covering my mid section and back. I paired it up with my Guess heels and when I was ready to leave for the evening, I put my olive green top over the white one.  This look can be easily turned into a day or night look just by switching up the shoes.

My mom called me to meet her for a Dr's appointment and I just switched my heels into some thong flats and out the door I went. When I came back home, I threw on my heels again and I was ready to go.  I didn't wear too much makeup, I kept it light and natural today.

Here is what I wore around the house during the morning. It's very laid back and casual but the way the top flows, the loose sleeves, and the studs glam it up a bit.

Later that day, I threw on a top I had in my closet for 2 years!! No joke! I bought it for my 22nd b-day and only wore it that one day and never again till today! I'll have to dig through my pictures and find it and post it here.

Anyhow, here is what my outfit looked like by the end of the night. I wore the top with the buttons closed and left the bust open to reveal the studs on the white top.  I also pulled out the white sleeve from the white top just enough to peek through the olive top and have the look come together.

Catching Up...

I've been showing my blog no love and it's time I stop procrastinating and actually keep up with my blog and actually write. I took the summer off from school because all classes were booked because our Governor (previously known as "The Terminator") made a lot of budget cuts and unfortunately my local college was hit and didn't offer summer school this year do to the budget cuts. The next thing to do was to apply at another college just 20 minutes away, which I did and those classes were booked Asap as well.

I ended up with no classes scheduled for the summer and figured it wouldn't be so bad. I thought to myself this was the time for me to focus on my writing and it's when I started doing Youtube videos again.  With that said, I'll try my best to post all my outfit of the days, and just anything that comes to mind from music, emotions, to anything that makes up who I am and what I love.  So with that said, catching up starts today and I will be posting pictures of my OOTD's.

Another reason why I hadn't posted was because I didn't have readers. I have 5 now, and whether they are reading or not I don't know, but they've inspired me to continue posting.  I'd very much like to hear from my readers, so please feel free to comment or say Hi :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

Wednesday's OOTD - Basic Casual

Today's outfit was something that didn't require a lot of thought and effort; Tunic, Jeans, and flats. This is a top that is very versatile and can be worn with shorts, jeans, or leggings. You can dress the shirt up or down with heels, wedges, or flats as well.

I didn't wear too many accessories but it's all about personal preference :)

Hope you enjoy!
