Adele-Rolling in the Deep

First and foremost, by far one of my favorite songs RIGHT NOW. The first time I heard this song about a week ago, instant chills ran up and down my arms, back, and had my hairs stand on end.  Adele's voice is amazing, beautiful, touching, and moving.

Second, it's one of those songs that touches home one way or another. How many of us have not felt exactly what she is siging? How many of us havn't been hurt before? Had another hold your heart and "play it to the beat"? How many of us don't get involved with someone who you think is gaurding your heart, only to find out you have been played with and never saw it coming? I know I have.

Do you all remember the PO? You know, the guy I talked so much about a few months ago? The guy I was so starstruck in a daze over? Well he's whom I think each time I hear this song.  The quote above explains why.  I feel scarred and I will probably forever remain scarred by the PO because till this day I have yet to meet him and with time I somehow began to love him and somehow I still do today. I've tried countless times pushing him away, distancing myself and avoiding all communication but find it impossible to do so and so we remain.   I've been taken away by him and his personality and how well he's gotten to know me and my personality despite not physically knowing me, as I him.  And like Adele sings away in her song, "I can't help feeling we could have had it all". Today, I dont know how I feel, I guess I'm just happy  he's back in my life and we're friends and my expectations from him are no longer the same.  I rather keep him as a friend, than not at all.

The PO knew I cared because I would tell him so and because it was obvious.  I was starting to feel like a girl in high school with a first time crush and he was well aware of it too.  He said he was falling for me, big mistake.  I know today he has love for me because he genuinely knows me, maybe more than I know myself and that's kind of scary.  Understandably we didn't meet for a number of reasons, but he kept leading me on to beelive otherwise hence played my heart to the beat. One day I had enough and had to really evaluate the situation and reiterate my feelings.

After two long months, I can say I'm good! I'm glad we're talking again, but my perspective has changed and I'm not caught up in the fairytale anymore and Adele's song doesn't hurt me as it would have had I heard it a month and a half ago.  It just touches me and makes me want to sing it out loud from the bottom of my soul!  I can feel her emotion through her song, a song sung from experience that will be heard and sung by many women across the country I'm sure.

Trey Songz - Can't Be Friends

Open Note to Trey: Trey, we all know you're gorgeous, fine, and that you make our mouth water, but seriously you need to chill and kick back a little with all that sex appeal you are so desperatly trying to ooze out of you in this video.

Now ladies, I am having second thoughts about Trey in this video. I love a man that has confidence in himself and knows he drives a woman crazy, but Trey just over did it for me in this video.  His sexy appeal isn't natural in this video for me, he's trying to damn hard to make you melt and it's just not working for me.

However I do sit back and enjoy being amused by him as he so desperatly tries to "make love to me" through this video. Babe, it ain't working. Sorry. CUT CUT CUT!

I dont know about you all but I almost feel uncomfortable watching this video and I feel for the directors and camera men behind the shoot! lol. He's so into himself in this video it's so ridiculous and so funny to me at the same time. So many girls comment on how they wish they were the girl in the video and I find myself questioning why!? Seriously, the girl may be in his arms but clearly Trey is more into himself than the girl and it's so funny watching him try to act like he's really into her when he's trying so hard to seduce you through the screen. I dont know, it just doesn't flow naturally for me. Defintely amusing though.

From the googly squinty eyes to his head nodding and shaking back and forth, I've never seen a male artist try so hard to detail emotion the way Trey did in this video. ...something's changed for me when it comes to Trey. Seriously, the man looks gay. And threre's nothing wrong with being gay, but what woman fantasizes about a gay man? Not saying Trey is gay, just saying he looks gay to me in this video.

Mayra's Playlist: Top Ten of the Week

I decided I wanted to incorporate a few new things into my YouTube Channel and music is one of them.  Music revolves around me and is a part of my life everywhere I go. I listen to music on the way home where its my local radio station or my favorite CD of all time (Los Enanitos Verdes: La Historia). I get to work and I'll play Yahoo Music or I'll plus in my Zune Player. If I'm away from my desk I'll have Pandora playing on my iPhone.  Point is music is a part of my life.

Unlike most, I do not have a music preference. I love all music. EVERYTHING. Yes. Even Country! I love me some Taylor Swift. I love me a little bit of everythign and if I havn't heard it, I'll give it a listen. Sometimes I warm up to music that I dont like at first and then I find myself unable to stop playing it.

I have Shazam Red on my iPhone. It's a music app that tags songs you may  not recognize or not know the name of if you find yourself saying "OMG! I love that song! What's it called!?" I know that  happens to me a little too often and since I've bought this app, it's been a life saver. I also use it to tag songs I adore so I can buy later, and figured I'd use it to talk about my favorite jams of the week.

So I'm here listening to Rihanna's "Only Girl" again...after writing a big ass blog only to hit "save" and piece of shit slaps me with "please sign in to continue" and therefore I lose it all!! Aint that a fuckn bitch!

I'm super mad right now. I've been having a shitty ass day and now this. Seems like my day is just getting worst by the minute. And now this song is having me want to pull my hair and run on the beach. I guess I'm at that stage of my wonderful single life where I'm just longing to be with somebody (or maybe Its signs of my period) and that's why I'm such an emotional wreck.  But it's funny how, I've been in relationships and I wish I was single and now I'm single and I want a relationship....or not necessarily a relationship...but real love..duh...which evolves from friendship into something more special which then leads to a relationship. I know this time I am not going to settle and that is why I am happy to be single. Life is much easier being on your own. You dont have to worry about giving anyone explanations of anything and you only rely on yourself to make it or break it. So until the right guy comes along, I'm going to enjoy  my single life (and the dating too). I did mention I was quite the dating whore right....hey what can I say, theirs plenty of fish in the sea, so might as well taste a few before you can really stick with one you call a favorite, wouldn't you agree? lol

I listen to this song and I think of him. Seriously, this is my anthem song right now. The lyrics are on point with what I feel and how I wish I could be that girl!!

I'm pretty aggravated at this point. I love and hate this song. Love it because what girl doesn't want to be the only girl for a guy. What girl doesn't wish she had a man that she knew only had eyes for her and didn't even think of being with another girl. What girl doesn't want that reassurance of having a man she can really say is hers and she his. I know I do. What girl doesn't want to have that control over a guy, make him swallow his pride, just as much as he'd do to her. To live your life with that piece of mind knowing you're the only one...must be really nice.

But what if you aren't the only girl. What if there are plenty others. Then ur probably one hating ass bitch right now. I know I am too. lol See, that's why I love and hate this song. I hate it because I'm not the only girl. I wish I was though. I wish I could be. I want to know what being the only girl feels like. Wouldn't you?  Ur probably hating too because you want to be the only girl you get frustrated and you feel you aint that girl and maybe you are just wasting your time, yet you hold on because you want to see if you could be that girl!

Damn it!! And the beat! I feel like having a few shots of tequila and just sit back in a dark room in a lounge somewhere, enjoy a drink and listen to this song and just fantasize and dream and stick my head up in the clouds where it will probably remain till I meet the man I'd become the only girl to.

I think I'm at this point in my single life where I'm starting to long for someone (or maybe I'm just about to get my period or something) cuz I'm an emotional wreck lately.

I love and I hate it because as the song plays, my head is up in the clouds with this illusion, this make beleive fantasy guy then once u know the song is over...(sigh)...back to reality...ur alone =) and hating the song for making u want what you dont have...YET.

 I want to meet the guy who I'd be the only girl to. I want him to take me like a thief in the night, hold me like a pillow and make me feel right. If you ahve this at home, take care of it, and let him know ur the only girl too because a lot of women have good men and dont even take care of them then when he leaves ur bitchy ass for a girl who truly appreciates it, then you want him back...Kinda like how men dog girls...girls do the same dirty shady shit! Christina Aguilera & Lady Gaga

Since the day Christina came out on stage in a leather suit signing "Keeps Getting Better", she's been critisized about looking and copying Lady Gaga's style. First of all, for those of you who don't follow Xtinas music and her work, the girl has been around for a decade and has a style of her own before Lady Gaga stepped into the music business. Do you all recall the day she walked down the red carpet in a massive fro and how everyone critisized her for being different. Apparently before Gaga came into the picture, all this was completely outrageous.

Christina Aguilera has always been different and has stepped out of the box we know as "normal". Gaga has her own sense of style and has defintely taken fashion up a notch and crossed boundaries that no one would ever dare to think of which makes her so great. But before Lady Gaga, we had Christina who attempted and did things that were out of the norm and everyone only critisized and ridiculed.

Christina has clearly stated she "thinks she is great, and appreciates any woman fearless enough to go against the norm" she goes on to say she "has absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga".

People need to relax and stop comparing these two ladies. Both are extremely talented in their own ways and we should appreciate them for what they are and what they contribue to our society, great music and lyrics we sing and dance to and a whole new world of fashion we can inspire from.

Wonder Girls - 2 Different Tears

So who are the Wonder Girls? The Wonder Girls are a group of 5 young, beautiful, and very talented  ladies from South Korea.  They rock a ton of styles, one of my favorites being a modern look of the 70's and their music is pretty neat. They began marketing their music in the US last year in 2009 with a single called "Nobody". This single made the Billboard Hot 100 list, making them the first Korean group to make the list.

The group itself has had it's share of replacing members. Some due to illness, others due to changes in careers. Nonetheless, the group continues to strive forward in making it big in the US. 

I first listened to their song "2 Different Tears" last night while I was playing Tap Tap Revenge on my iPhone. I have to admit the song isgreat and it has a catchy beat.  To any girl who has been through the boy drama and often finds herself questioning "should I stay, should I leave" then this song can defintely become one of your favorites.

The song itself describes a girl who has a love/hate relationship with a boy who has put her through love/hate situations and she's reflectiving whether or not she wants to continue moving forward with this boy despite all the things he's put her through and she finds herself contradicting herself crying over this boy yet still wondering why she wants to continue seeing him because the pain wasn't so bad and what not.

Their single "Nobody" is prettey self explanatory. They are talking about the love for a boy and how they want "nobody" but him.  It's very repetitive and theres not much to the song. Their song "2 Different Tears" seems like it may have more success over "Nobody."
