The Weightloss Battle

If you're a big girl like me, then chances are at one point or another you've tried to lose weight. Everyone's success rate when it comes to weight loss is different and along our journey to lose the weight we have our ups and downs.

My biggest problem when it came to weight loss was just keeping the weight off. I've found it fairly easy to lose weight. It's a matter of making smarter choices, increasing your water intake, eating more fruits and veggies and just trying to keep a more active lifestyle. These types of choices were not too difficult for me to make, the biggest problem was again, keeping the weight off.

Each time I noticed the numbers on the scale go down, I'd become extremely excited! And slowly, I'd start creeping junk food into my diet. I'd tell myself "I've been doing so good, a little ice cream can't do any harm" and then I'd find myself saying "okay, just a little more" and then it would go as far as me saying "I'll start fresh tomorrow" and well...it goes on and on.

Then I'd find myself at square one, or even past it. I'd start my diet all over again, lose some weight, become excited and continue with my bad habits of eating and slowly incorporating the junk back into my diet.

So I know I can lose the weight, my battle with weight loss is dropping the bad habit of cheating myself of being able to eat junk again without letting me gain the weight back.

Overall today, my goal isn't to lose weight anymore but to just make smarter eating choices. I eat less but of EVERYTHING and ANYTHING I want, I pack my lunch for work and stopped buying fast food, I buy fresh vegetables and fruits weekly and snack on them through out the day and I only drink water (unless we have family get togethers or fun with friends) then I'll have a soda or a drink.

I've noticed I've lost a few pounds and to my surprise I've kept of the weight and I haven't even been trying which makes me feel that much better about myself.

Today my outlook on weight loss is this: If I lose weight then great! But if I don't and I stay at the size I am, then great too! I'm not going to stress and beat myself up and bring myself down each time I fail which will only make me go on a binge and i'll end up gaining weight.

I guess my point here is be happy with what you have! Don't let losing weight determine how happy you will be because if you fail you will be hard on yourself and it really sucks! Be happy with who you are today, and if you lose the weight that you so desire to lose than that will be a bigger boost to your self esteem :)

What are some of your battles with weight loss? Do share!

Confidence is a Beautiful Thing

Have you ever taken a moment to stop and stare at yourself? Like really stop and stare at yourself? I’m not talking about taking a glimpse in the mirror, touching up and heading out. Do you ever catch yourself wondering who's staring back at you? Who is that girl staring back at you? Do you ever question who you are?

Being a plus sized woman isn’t easy. It takes a lot getting used to and accepting yourself for what you are and what you have. Not all plus sized woman have fully accepted their bodies and are still battling insecurity issues.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve come to that mirror, stared at yourself and were repulsed by what you saw. You tell yourself how anyone could possibly want your body and you constantly put yourself down. Day by day you wish to be a skinnier you, to be more fit, and to lose weight. But do we do it? Do we actually get it done? Most of the time we do not.

Ladies, it is time we accept our bodies for what they are! BIG AND BEAUTIFUL, THICK & GORGEOUS! No more pessimistic thoughts and putdowns from our greatest enemies! OURSELVES. It’s time we stop and stare at that mirror and ACCEPT, LOVE, AND ADMIRE what we have.

Once you’ve reached that point of appreciation towards your bodies you will truly become a more confident, more positive, and happier individual.

Confidence is truly a beautiful thing! And confidence will truly exude your sexier self. I am beautiful, I love my curves, and I am thick and gorgeous. I look at myself in the mirror today and love what I see! Building confidence isn’t easy but it definitely isn’t impossible, and it’s definitely easier than losing weight!

Plus sized woman are sexy! And with this blog I hope to inspire you to become a more confident plus sized woman too!

Christina Aguilera & Lady Gaga

Since the day Christina came out on stage in a leather suit signing "Keeps Getting Better", she's been critisized about looking and copying Lady Gaga's style. First of all, for those of you who don't follow Xtinas music and her work, the girl has been around for a decade and has a style of her own before Lady Gaga stepped into the music business. Do you all recall the day she walked down the red carpet in a massive fro and how everyone critisized her for being different. Apparently before Gaga came into the picture, all this was completely outrageous.

Christina Aguilera has always been different and has stepped out of the box we know as "normal". Gaga has her own sense of style and has defintely taken fashion up a notch and crossed boundaries that no one would ever dare to think of which makes her so great. But before Lady Gaga, we had Christina who attempted and did things that were out of the norm and everyone only critisized and ridiculed.

Christina has clearly stated she "thinks she is great, and appreciates any woman fearless enough to go against the norm" she goes on to say she "has absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga".

People need to relax and stop comparing these two ladies. Both are extremely talented in their own ways and we should appreciate them for what they are and what they contribue to our society, great music and lyrics we sing and dance to and a whole new world of fashion we can inspire from.

Delonte West tapping LeBron's Mom??

Rumor has it that Lebron's mother Gloria James is getting jiggy with Delonte West. Now this could be true, or it can be totally false and fabricated.   According to terezowens.com who claims has a  "reliable" source from Cleveland quotes his source saying "his uncle has been told that Delonte has been banging Gloria James (Lebron’s Mom) for some time now. Somehow Lebron found out before game four and it destroyed their chemistry and divided the team."

Now according to terezowns.com this source is reliable. But this is nothing more than a case of "he said, she said." First of all, this is not a reliable source because this quote did not come directly from the "uncle." This could have easily been taken out of context and the so called "source" could have easily fabricated a story.

By now, just about everyone beleives it's just a fabricated story. How could Delonte be into James' mother?! and what not. Different strokes for different folks, nobody is to say who or what kind of women these men are attracted to, if this rumor plays out it's a slap in the face to anyone thinking he'd never get with a woman like her, we are living in different times my friends; age and physical appearance arn't the main reasons men date women.

However, with this information and from the chemistry Lebron and Donte had on the court on game 4 moving forward, makes you question and even consider that this rumor could be true.

Finally, the story seems too extreme, the source is unreliable, and this could be just another story with an explanation as to why the Cavaliers lost. Either way, terezowens.com posted this news Saturday, and it's just now becoming hot news...I'm pretty sure we will be hearing from LeBron soon or someone is going to dig up all the dirt and either kill the rumor or just feed into it...

We'll see what happens!

Wonder Girls - 2 Different Tears

So who are the Wonder Girls? The Wonder Girls are a group of 5 young, beautiful, and very talented  ladies from South Korea.  They rock a ton of styles, one of my favorites being a modern look of the 70's and their music is pretty neat. They began marketing their music in the US last year in 2009 with a single called "Nobody". This single made the Billboard Hot 100 list, making them the first Korean group to make the list.

The group itself has had it's share of replacing members. Some due to illness, others due to changes in careers. Nonetheless, the group continues to strive forward in making it big in the US.

I first listened to their song "2 Different Tears" last night while I was playing Tap Tap Revenge on my iPhone. I have to admit the song isgreat and it has a catchy beat.  To any girl who has been through the boy drama and often finds herself questioning "should I stay, should I leave" then this song can defintely become one of your favorites.

The song itself describes a girl who has a love/hate relationship with a boy who has put her through love/hate situations and she's reflectiving whether or not she wants to continue moving forward with this boy despite all the things he's put her through and she finds herself contradicting herself crying over this boy yet still wondering why she wants to continue seeing him because the pain wasn't so bad and what not.

Their single "Nobody" is prettey self explanatory. They are talking about the love for a boy and how they want "nobody" but him.  It's very repetitive and theres not much to the song. Their song "2 Different Tears" seems like it may have more success over "Nobody."
